Hosting

The website and the email mailboxes are hosted by a hosting provider in Germany, which processes the data on the controller’s behalf (Art. 28 GDPR).

With every request to trilode.com, or to trilode.de and trilode.eu, which redirect there, the server processes the IP address and the technical details the browser sends with the request, such as the page requested, the previously visited page (referrer) and the browser used (user agent). This is necessary to deliver the website and to keep it secure, for example against attacks. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in these purposes.

No access logs are stored for this website. IP addresses that the hosting provider’s security systems may record to fend off attacks are deleted automatically once they are no longer needed for that purpose. Providing this data is neither a statutory nor a contractual requirement, but without it the website cannot be delivered.

Contact by email

When someone makes contact by email, their email address, name and the content of the message are processed in order to answer the enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry relates to a contract, and otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). The data is deleted once it is no longer needed for this purpose, unless statutory retention obligations apply.

Rights of data subjects

Data subjects have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20); an informal message to is enough. They also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR).

Right to object: Where processing is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, it may be objected to at any time on grounds relating to the data subject’s particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).
